Woodstock Tower Building - 320 E. 42nd St. New York, NY 10017

The Building

The Woodstock Tower is a pre-war, landmarked building that majestically rises high above 42nd street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Built by Fred F. French in 1929 in the Tudor style, the 459 unit building was originally constructed for pied--terre rentals and as a hotel but was later converted into cooperative apartments in 1980.

At 32 stories, it is the tallest building, perhaps the grandest, in the Tudor City complex. It is noted for its series of stepped terraces with commanding views of the river and the city. It has a canopied entrance, a four-story limestone entrance surround, and newly appointed external bricks. There is an elegant two-storied lobby and recently renovated hallways and elevators.

320 Gym Membership

The Woodstock gym is fully equipped with a range of cardio equipment, weight machines and free weights. There are three treadmills, two Stairmasters, two Precor Ellipticals, one upright and three recumbent bicycles. There are a number of Paramount and other types of weight machines, including a cable and a row machine, and racks of free weights with corresponding benches.

The price of a membership is only $350 per year per unit!

The Back Garden

The private courtyard garden provides a serene outdoor space for residents and also serves as a venue for building events, such as barbeques during the warmer months. The garden is open until 9:30 p.m. nightly. Picnics, drinks with friends and quiet meditation are encouraged.

Unfortunately, due to health and safety regulations pets are not allowed in the area.

The Laundry Room

Woodstock Tower comes with a private laundry room for residents. The facilities include two jumbo washers, three large front loading washers, seven top loading washers and ten dryers. There is also a vending machine that dispenses soap, fabric softener and other needed supplies. The laundry room is open 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily.

Front Desk Services

The front desk is manned 24 hours a day for added building security and screening of those who come and go. Packages will be accepted, along with food and other deliveries. If your unit has a maintenance or other issue, work orders may be filled out at the desk for the superintendent or staff to address during business hours.

Tudor City Greens

Tudor City Greens, Inc. (the Greens) is a New York 501(c)(3)not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve and enhance Tudor City's two landmarked parks. The parks are located on Tudor City Place on either side of East 42nd Street, east of Second Avenue. The Greens was formed in 1987 to assume ownership and responsibility for the parks, under the auspices of The Trust for Public Land, when Tudor City buildings were being converted to cooperative ownership by the sponsor, Time-Equities.

Think of the beauty and serenity that the Tudor City Parks bring to our neighborhood. A generous gift from you will help us to maintain our parks and offer special programs year round.

Area Transportation

The area is a transportation hub and is readily accessible with buses on 1st and 2nd avenues, cross-town bus service on 42nd Street, Grand Central Station two avenues away, and highway and tunnel access very close by. A few blocks to the south is the East River ferry which connects midtown to Brooklyn, Queens and downtown Manhattan.
